Phase 3 Connectors Acquire New Premises

25/04/2018

PHASE 3 CONNECTORS LTD have acquired a new business premises based in Liverpool, England on Knowsley Business Park. After enjoying a period of sustained growth and success, the company has relocated its headquarters and added a new assembly facility.

Why the new factory?

Since achieving UL Listing status on our Powersafe power connectors, we have seen an exponential rise in orders from the United States and Canada.

UL Listed connectors have different specifications and markings compared to non-UL products. Therefore, Company Directors made the decision to separate assembly to minimise risk of product contamination and ensure a continuation of Phase 3’s high quality standards.

New procedures will ensure Phase 3 offer the same world class service to our customer base. Glenrothes management, Paul and Derek, will still handle Sales and Manufacturing from our Scottish site in Glenrothes.

The new site will bring benefits such as:

  • Improvement in supply chain logistics, reducing delivery times and cost.
  • Facilitates a specialist UL Product assembly point, reducing product cross contamination.
  • Maintain a high level of quality with Compliance Manager based on site.

Director, Andy Glachan, said the move was inevitable, “Due to the global success of Phase 3 we always knew that we were going to outgrow our original premises in Scotland. With the different colours and phases of the UL connectors, it made sense to move.

“One factory will be producing EU and Oceania region connectors, while we will serve the North American market from Merseyside. UL approval has taken us to instant success and made it apparent very quickly that we were not going to be able to cope with a single factory. We’re looking forward to the next chapter for Phase 3.”

Phase 3 doubled their international exports turnover in 2017. In 2018, Powersafe are touted to become the global industry standard for power distribution connectors. The connectors have already been sourced and contracted by UAE utility companies, the 2018 Russia World Cup, the Winter Olympics in South Korea and the Commonwealth Games on Australia’s Gold Coast.
